I am Palak Totala, a senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna. With a strong foundation in programming and a growing interest in Natural Language Processing, I am dedicated to leveraging technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, to create impactful solutions. Beyond my academic pursuits, I am a Kathak dancer, an avid reader, and a strong advocate for nurturing meaningful relationships with family and friends. I am passionate about connecting with diverse individuals and making a positive impact on the world.

I spent the summer of my 3rd year at the University of British Columbia, where I applied a GAN framework to augment EEG signals and cognitive data. This allowed me to enhance an existing dataset with improved cognitive signal time series. Additionally, I investigated language perception in individuals with sensorimotor and developmental issues to contribute to more inclusive technology design.

During my time at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, I worked on enhancing a crowd parameter estimation tool using various Python libraries. I improved the software in multiple ways: I made the user interface more user-friendly, addressed software bugs, and introduced new features such as tooltips and the ability to import and export CSV files. These enhancements aimed to make the tool more efficient and accessible for its users.
